Journey to Taiwan – Part 1: Explore Formosa, the beautiful island of Asia

Traditionally, in order to look back on a hard-working year and tighten the relationship between members, every year IMM Group specifically holds company trips for all members of big family IMM. Taiwan, an Asian poetic island, was chosen to be the destination of this trip. This island is also known as Ilha Formosa which means “beautiful island”, bearing pristine beauty with crystal blue coast and lots of appealing spots.

The highlight of this trip was the Year End night party, where the whole IMM family gathered, reminisced the past year, talked about new year’s plans and rewarded the excellent individuals of IMM Group.

Day 1: Arrived in Taichung

Travelling 1,709 km, IMM Group arrived in Taiwan at 4 pm of local time. After completely settling, the whole team moved from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taichung to have dinner, explore the area and take rests. The cold and drizzle weather in Taiwan at that time created a fresh atmosphere for visitors.

After landing, the members went for a walk around Fengjia night market to explore the nightlife in Taiwan.

The members of translation, file processing, EB-5 teams “found each other” in the crowded street.

The Food night market is always the most dynamic area.

At Taiwan night market, visitors could enjoy lots of unique and tasty meals. Milk tea and stinky tofu attract the greatest attention from everyone.

Day 2: Begin discovering Taichung - Taipei

After a tasty breakfast at the hotel, the IMM Group family went to visit the tea garden, the first destination of the day. Passing through such a long distance surrounded by waving mountains along the roadside, the whole team was welcomed by the lush green view of the tea garden, looming among the poetically opaque mist. Other than many kinds of Taiwanese tea, there are also lots of famous brands of tea from different countries, which are specially prepared by tea experts to become the specialties of this place. It was such a great feeling that visitors can enjoy the lush green tea plantation while tasting cozy cups of Kungfu tea.

Leaving the tea garden, the whole team headed to the next spot. Taiwan Central Meditation Temple is known as the Buddhism Vatican of Taiwan, which is the tallest and second widest temple in Taiwan. The unique trait of Central Meditation Temple is the structure of a tall vertical tower having a gold arch on the top which, at first glance, looked like the stupas built in Tibetan architecture. Visitors felt like arriving in Elysium, all stress and tiredness appeared to be released, bringing along a peaceful and tranquil feeling.

In the twilight, the whole team moved to the next location – Sun Moon Lake, the ideal sightseeing scenery having a poetic landscape. The Romantic landscape, Chinese ancient architecture together with a magnificent view of great mountains create a unique beauty of Sun Moon Lake, stirring the emotional feelings of visitors.

As the city lights up, everyone went back to Taipei to take rest and explore the Ximending night market, one of the largest night markets in Taipei. Situated to the west of Taipei city, Ximending night market is known as an attractive spot to inbound and outbound travellers. The night market is called “Ximending” due to its location to the western gate of Taipei city. This market was established in the colonial period of Japan in Taiwan.

“Ximending” is regarded as a cultural symbol of Taipei, inspired by Japanese culture. Not only is this market the culture center of Taipei, but it is also considered a “shopping paradise” with an array of fashion clothes stores and chains of restaurants, clubs, bars, etc.

The bustle, jubilantly weaving in every corner of the market.

Milk tea – one of the famous specialties in Taiwan, is a must-try when travelling there.
